Over the past two years, many in non-essential work positions shifted from an office desk to an at-home desk. While technology made this move possible and even efficient, it may not be best for workers’ mental health.

Last year from March 26 through April 5, the American Psychiatric Association conducted an online survey of 1,000 workers. Unfortunately, most employees surveyed who were working at home experienced isolation and loneliness. Further, they felt unable to get away from work; it was harder to separate work life from home life. A return to the office will fulfill that basic, human need of interaction.

What does a return to the office look like for you and your employees?

  • Do you feel the need to provide more space between workstations?
  • Have you hired more employees during the pandemic, and you need more space?
  • Have employees left your business, and you need to downsize?
  • Is your business thriving in a work-from-home environment, and you’re not sure how much space you need?
